TAN: The Holy Spirit is essential when it comes to the work of the Christian therapist. The Holy Spirit is called the Counselor, Comforter, Helper, or Advocate in John – The work and the ministry of the Holy Spirit can be understood as taking place in three major ways: the Spirit’s power, the Spirit’s truth, and the Spirit’s fruit.   The way I experience the Holy Spirit is the same way I experience almost all things of God – by faith (see Ephesians ). Scripture tells me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians ) and I believe it. I accept and experience that fact by faith.

The Holy Spirit is a person, the third person of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is not a vague, ethereal shadow, nor an impersonal force. He is a person equal in every way with the Father and the Son. All the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equally ascribed to the Holy Spirit.   Theologians from the early church to the present have written much about the Holy Spirit and Christian salvation. This extensive sourcebook of primary theological texts makes many of these writings available with a description of their context and importance. Especially valuable are more recent works emerging from theologians in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

'Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit' by Francis Chan. Another popular title and an Amazon #1 Best Seller with a 5 star rating, the 'Crazy Love' author pours his heart and soul into painting a picture of the Holy Spirit that is deeply personal - a Helper who intimately knows us and wants to help form us into witnesses for : Charlene Mason. Believers in the relevance of the supernatural gifts sometimes speak of a Baptism with the Holy Spirit or Filling with the Holy Spirit which the Christian needs to experience in order to receive those gifts. However, many Christian denominations hold that the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is identical with conversion, and that all Christians are by definition baptized in the Holy Spirit.
